1st Day of Preschool and More

In honor of Grandpa Christensen's 105th birthday on August 13th, I took a picture of Anna chewing on a toy ice cream cone.  Grandpa C. loved ice cream!  Every evening before dinner was over, Grandpa would pull out the carton of ice cream so it would soften just the right amount to have some at the end of the meal.  I'm sure that if he were still alive, he would have shared some ice cream with Anna.  The love of ice cream is in our blood!
David and Spencer pose before David's first day of preschool on August 16th.  David attends Discovery Club every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00-11:30.  He LOVES it!  Several times he said it's "Super-duper awesome!"  On the second day he asked if Spencer could come with him next time.

David wears his new Discovery Club backpack on his first day.

Can you see the family of horses riding on each others' backs?  David made this family of horses with the Trio blocks on August 23rd.  He called them Dad, Mom, David, Spencer and Anna.

Messy face!  She still only has two bottom teeth.

Anna turned 9 months old!

Utah Vacation August 2011

The Grand Opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of the newly remodeled Burgess Play House on July 29th in Sandy!!  Wow!  Grandma and Grandpa B. made it so nice inside and out!

July 31st, Anna is 9 months old!

Anna visiting Great-Grandma Anna Easthope at her home in Syracuse on August 1st.  This trip to Utah was the last time we saw Great-Grandma in this life.  She passed away September 4th.

Bowling at Boondocks in Kaysville with the boys!  STRIKE!!

Grandpa B. borrowed a PONY for the grandchildren to ride!  YeeHaw!

We went to Discovery Gateway Childrens Museum with Grandma and Grandpa Easthope on August 2nd.  The boys loved the real helicopter.

Cooking pancakes with Grandpa Easthope.

I love to see the temple! I'm going there someday.  After spending time at the Church History Museum Children's exhibit about the Book of Mormon, the Burgess cousins touched the doors of the Salt Lake Temple on August 4th.

Elder Mathew Cowley told his granddaughter, "Remember that this day you touched the temple. One day you will go inside." She had touched the temple, and the temple had touched her.

Families Can Be Together Forever!

Burgess Talent Show at a cabin in Heber on August 4th.  Our "Jaws" was a big hit!  Then we shared shark shaped fruit snacks with the cousins.

More pony rides in Sandy on August 6th.  Spencer, our horse lover, especially loved it.

Big smiles from the boys!!

We love Utah in July!

Two bald cousins, Anna (8 months) and Ellie (6 months) play together at Grandma B.'s house.
David and Spencer help Grandpa B. till the garden, Saturday, July 2nd.  I'm not sure how easy it is to till a garden with someone on your shoulders!  We can't wait to see the corn grow!

Full of laughs, Ellie and Anna.
Jason and Kristi blessed their new baby Brielle on Sunday, July 3rd, in their North Salt Lake ward.  Everyone but Andrea's family was there.
More cute cousin poses.  Anna is almost ready to burst into tears--she was exhausted.
Anna is wearing the very first dress I ever bought her.  I bought it on clearance last July before she was born.

We watched the Kaysville 4th of July Parade with Grandma and Grandpa Easthope, Uncle Nate, Aunt Janae and Uncle Scott.  The boys were fascinated by all the sights and sounds of a small town parade.
We loved the fire engines, but the boys thought the sirens were too loud!
Anna stayed awake for most of the parade.
Easthope family photos on Independence Day.

Steve and Nate pretend to be kangaroos during a game of animal charades.
We went to the Ogden Dinosaur Park with the Easthopes on July 6th, but we left early when Spencer got sick with a high fever.  They liked digging for fossils more than the dinosaur displays.
Spencer and David play baseball with Grandpa Easthope on the sports court July 6th.  They're quite the little baseball men!  Anna enjoyed being outside in the nice summer weather and watching her brothers play.  You can't do that in Arizona.
It's hard to believe that our happy little girl Anna is 8 months old!

June 2011

Spencer and David took swimming lessons from Amy Peterson the beginning of June.  It made both of them kind of nervous, but they improved a lot after 2 weeks.

Look at us!  We're swimming!

June 4th, We went to Superstition Dairy Farm tour with Grandma and Grandpa Easthope.  We went on a tractor ride tour of the farm and saw lots and lots of cows.  The boys loved petting the horses, goats, sheep, roosters and donkey.  We also loved their ice cream!

Do you dare touch the hen?

Anna enjoys riding on Steve's shoulders June 10th.
Our first time swimming this year at Stapley Pool June 16th.  It was Anna's first time in a swimming pool.  Spencer loved dumping water on me!
Anna loved the wading pool area!

Happy Father's Day!  June 19th Steve poses with the children and dances with Anna.  We ate pudding pie after a nice Sunday dinner.

Dancing with Daddy!

We loved the Superstition Dairy Farm so much we went again on June 24th with Grandma and Grandpa Burgess.  Cocoa the horse is our new friend there.  We love everything about  farms and tractors!
