Happy 2nd Birthday Spencer!

It's birthday week at the Easthope home! Melanie celebrated her birthday on Wednesday, September 29th and Spencer celebrated his 2nd birthday on Sunday, October 3rd!! Spencer got to spend the day watching General Conference with his family and Easthope grandparents. During the Sunday morning session of Conference, Pres. Monson sang the Birthday Party song just for Spencer!! "Here we go, here we go, to a birthday party!" Spencer lit up and tried to repeat the melody a few times. Spencer loves to sing, and he conducted all of the music during Conference.
In between sessions, we opened a few gifts. David was very eager to help Spencer open each one. David chose to give Spencer a Fisher Price front loader for his birthday because it was something he really wanted. It will be a good toy for practice sharing. Spencer received several fun books to read and toy horses which he loves. Spencer is fascinated with horses right now and pretends to feed them carrots.
After the afternoon session and naps we had a nice family dinner and ate cake and ice cream. We made a train cake from cupcake molds. The train is supposed to be "Edward" from the Thomas the Train series, one of Spencer's favorite characters. Edward is train #2, so it was appropriate to make him for Spencer's 2nd birthday. Right now both David and Spencer LOVE trains. Spencer did a great job trying to blow out the birthday candles.
We love Spencer! It was fun to remember the day he was born two years ago. He brings us so much joy! We love his smiles, laughs, and hugs. He is an easy-going, happy boy and has always been our cuddler. We are so grateful he was sent to our home! Happy 2nd Birthday Spencer!

That cake looks just like Edward, good job Mommy! I remember that night 2 years ago also. We'll just pray you have a little more time with this little girl. Enjoy your break this week.
